Melissa Raycraft is a 20-year lawyer who advocates passionately for her clients, while at the same time is warm and empathetic.

Prior to returning to The Mike Cox Law Firm, Melissa Wojnar-Raycraft practiced law with The Miller Law Firm, a nationally known class-action and commercial litigation law firm and with Novara, Tesija, Catenacci, McDonald, & Baas PLLC, the 10th Largest Law Firm in Southeast Michigan and the largest insurance defense firm in the State. Ms. Raycraft concentrates her practice on commercial and business litigation, personal injury litigation, and administrative law. Ms. Raycraft returns to Mike Cox Law to lead the firm’s Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Litigation, representing more than 200 veterans and their family members, as well as Mike Cox Law Firm’s personal injury practice.

Ms. Raycraft’s advocacy abilities have garnered successful results for her clients:

  • Ms. Raycraft was part of the team that successfully represented over 200 clients in the UM/Dr. Anderson sexual abuse cases.
  • Ms. Raycraft was part of the team defending the Detroit International Bridge Company from a condemnation effort by the Michigan Department of Transportation, a highly-complex litigation case with complex discovery, constitutional, and statutory issues.
  • Ms. Raycraft was part of the team of lawyers that obtained a $970.5 million settlement which arose from AIG’s statements leading up to the U.S. Government’s historic bailout.
  • After a two-week long arbitration hearing, Ms. Raycraft obtained an arbitration award of $13 million dollars for the General Retirement System of the City of Detroit against investment advisors that breached their contracts, breached their fiduciary duties, violated Michigan’s Public Employee Retirement System Investment Act, and committed fraud and civil conspiracy.
  • Ms. Raycraft has successfully obtained dismissal of a number of No-Fault Act and personal injury cases on summary disposition.

Ms. Raycraft has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by Michigan Super Lawyers magazine for more than a decade, from 2013 to 2024.

Ms. Raycraft grew up in Detroit, attended the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, and was a mental health counselor before becoming a lawyer in 2003. When not at the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, camping throughout the beautiful State of Michigan and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for her daughter’s troop.  Melissa is a passionate University of Michigan fan and can be found most football Saturdays at the Big House.  Go Blue!
