He has a proven track record of success in state and federal litigation, at both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Artaev’s diligence, meticulous attention to detail, and persuasive writing skills ensure clients get the best representation possible.
Prior to joining The Mike Cox Law Firm P.L.L.C., Mr. Artaev served as Assistant Attorney General in the Labor Division of the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. In that capacity, Dan was an integral part of high-level litigation teams, including drafting the winning brief in the high-profile case, Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council v Snyder, __F 3d __, 2013 WL 476701 (C.A. 6th (Mich)), 196 LRRM (BNA) 2825, which challenged Michigan’s law banning project labor agreements in public construction. At The Mike Cox Law Firm, Mr. Artaev has continued his appellate advocacy with appearances at the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and Michigan’s Court of Appeals.
At the The Mike Cox Law Firm, Mr. Artaev has litigated on behalf of clients ranging from automotive OEMS to independent grocers, from large financial institutions to lone entrepreneurs, and from national aviation firms to small state contractors. Mr. Artaev received his law degree in 2010 from the Michigan State University College of Law. Mr. Artaev graduated summa cum laude and earned Jurisprudence Awards for the top grade in Research and Legal Writing, International Sales, and Criminal Procedure. Mr. Artaev honed his leadership and writing skills as the Senior Notes Editor of the Michigan State Law Review, and as a member of the Law Review’s Senior Executive Board.
Mr. Artaev’s competitive juices flowed when he was a member of Kalamazoo College’s championship varsity tennis team. At Kalamazoo College, Mr. Artaev graduated magna cum laude with majors in Economics and Business and German Language and Literature. Mr. Artaev is fluent in Russian and has a working knowledge of German and basic Spanish.
Mr. Artaev and his wife are avid bikers, fitness buffs, and Red Wing fans. He also loves to play the acoustic and electric guitars, with an emphasis on heavy metal and classic rock.
